) Daily Unicorn News from GroqGroq announced at the Global AI Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, that it will deploy AI in the country in 2024 in partnership with Aramco Digital. The announcement was made by Groq's founder and CEO, Jonathan Ross, and Aramco Digital's CEO, Tareq Amin. Groq aims to achieve a capacity of 25 million tokens per second by the end of Q1 2025, matching the combined capacity of Microsoft and OpenAI at the end of 2023. The company also revealed plans to expand this capacity to 1 billion tokens per second, which would consume over 600 megawatts of power. Groq claims to have the fastest output speed and boasts over 444,000 developers using its API, making it the world's second-largest AI company by this metric. Additionally, Aramco Digital announced a custom AI-based operating system called NourOS, which allows users to interact with the system in natural language. Financially, Groq is reportedly close to a new funding round led by BlackRock Inc., which would double its valuation to $2.5 billion. The company has also received an endorsement from former Facebook executive Chamath Palihapitiya, who encouraged developers to use Groq’s AI models to enhance their applications.
