SpaceX is set to launch the Crew Dragon spacecraft on the Polaris Dawn mission today, Sunday, September 1, using a Falcon 9 rocket. The mission aims to achieve the highest Earth orbit ever at 1,400 kilometers. After completing seven orbits, the spacecraft will descend to 700 kilometers, where astronauts will perform a two-hour spacewalk to test SpaceX's Starlink laser-based communication system. The crew includes mission commander Jared Isaacman, Scott Poteet, Sarah Gillis, and Anna Menon. Over the course of five days, the mission will conduct 35 experiments to advance space travel and technology before returning to Earth.
